Deep Tissue/Therapeutic Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas. It helps with chronic muscular pain, injury rehabilitation and may reduce inflammation.
Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, you should feel better than ever within a day or two. When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and gets blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.
Somato Emotional Release
Somato
Emotional Release (SER) is a therapeutic process that expands on the
principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help rid the mind and body of the
residual effects of emotional trauma. Memories of past traumas (pain,
emotional insults, accidents, illnesses, injuries, sexual, verbal or
physical abuse, war, traumatic birth process etc.) may reside in the
body tissue. This is called somatic memory, or cellular memory.
SER is designed to identify and diffuse blocked emotional energy patterns within the body. Upon freeing these energies, client’s usually feel as if a weight has been lifted. They feel more optimistic and relaxed and have more energy for life. This therapy is often used in conjunction with CranioSacral Therapy.
Sports Massage
Used primarily for the serious athlete who trains continuously. It focuses on the muscles relevant to the particular athletic activity. It can also include pre-event, post-event and maintenance techniques that promote greater athletic endurance and performance, lessen chances of injury and reduce recovery time.
Reflexology
Esoteric Healing
The energy field surrounds and permeates all living beings. Within the energy field are seven major centers, the Chakras. They are located at or near, major nerve centers or ganglia within the body. Each of these Chakras energizes its related nerve center, endocrine gland and internal organ system.
It is within this energy field that the cause of disease can be located. The practitioner identifies weaknesses within the energy field and uses techniques to bring balance and harmony to the system.
Swedish/Relaxation Massage
Swedish massage can relax muscles, increase circulation, and remove metabolic waste products. It helps the recipient obtain a feeling of connection, and a better awareness of their body and the way they use and position it. It improves circulation without increasing heart load, and stretches the ligaments and tendons, keeping them supple.
Swedish massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system while at the same time relaxing the nerves themselves. As it can help reduce emotional and physical stress it is often recommended as part of a regular program for stress management.
